Dundee Youth Music Theatre

Dundee Youth Music Theatre (DYMT) is a Scottish Charity established in 2022. DYMT exists to advance the arts, improve wellbeing, and increase opportunities for young people aged 5-25, particularly those from areas of multiple deprivation in Dundee. We aim to remove financial, social, and emotional barriers to participation in the arts by providing inclusive, high quality performing arts training and experiences. Our work addresses inequalities in access to creative opportunities, builds confidence and promotes aspiration through the power of musical theatre. We particularly focus on reaching those who would not normally access creative activities due to a feeling of elitism, cost, and lack of representation. Far more than a youth theatre, DYMT works to-build a resilient community of young people who support each other, express themselves creatively and develop lasting confidence and social skills.
