Easter Multi Sport Camp

This year, we are looking to expand the Easter holiday camp provision on offer at Ballumbie and Fintry primary schools. Currently, we have Active Schools Assistants (PEF Funded) and myself, Active School Coordinator (LACD) to run Easter activities for up to 16 children. If we were to obtain DP funding, we would be able to increase the number of pupils by adding in specialist coaches and increase the range of activities on offer. Recently, Active Schools have employed casual coaches for Dance and are in the process of recruiting casual coaches for other sports. All will be available and in place by March. We hope to obtain funding to pay for these additional specialist coaches. We can currently offer Football, Rugby, Basketball and Athletics at our camps but are looking to be able to offer Dance, Netball and Hockey with additional coaches. The holiday camps are always very popular and are completely FREE to our pupils. Due to the nature of the children we target, some with behavioural and emotional issues, we need to have the correct pupil:staff ratios so we can offer pupils high quality and enjoyable sports coaching. This also allows parents some relief time or time to work.
