Family Sessions – Douglas Sports Centre

The Family Sessions at Douglas Sports Centre was set up in November 2022 in a response to the cost-of-living crisis. The formation of the provision occurred after Leisure & Culture offered the use of their main hall and small meeting room to members of the public. Dundee City Council CLD staff supported links with Family Support workers at the local primary schools who identify families who might benefit from the provision.  Dundee Bairns supported the free provision with funding to provide food for the families attending.  The provision has been a roaring success on the good will of volunteers and small input from various partners including Rocksolid.
