Greet, Eat and Meet (GEM)

Greet, Eat and Meet is a community group that takes place on a Wednesday every week in Ormiston Lounge from 3.30-5.30pm. The group was developed to tackle some of the issues associated with fuel poverty and the cost of living crisis and is part of the cosy spaces initiative. The group is free and open to anyone in the community and food is provided every week for those who attend. In addition to this, there are other benefits for those who attend the group such as reducing social isolation and connecting individuals and families to other services in the community. The group has become a safe space for individuals and groups to express any concerns and through weekly meetings, issues have been identify which has led to interagency referrals and internal and external services offering support to individuals.
