Family Activity Programme

This grant will be used to continue providing food provision as part of the family programme run at DISC every Wednesday between 5pm-6pm. Through consultation with Active Schools and the School and Family Development Worker at Clepington Primary School, families who do not participate in sport have been identified and families that struggle with food provision. We run a family programme every Wednesday with families identified by the School and Family Development Worker as those most in need of support, invited to attend. The families participate in a range of sports which are delivered by volunteers from Caird Park Community Sports Hub and includes athletics, badminton, cricket, football, hockey, karate and rugby. There are multiple benefits to the families who bond through participating together.
